By creating an account on The Record, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not create an account or use the service.

2. What The Record Is

The Record is a personal reflection and coaching tool built on the Burning Down the House methodology. It is designed to support self-inquiry, accountability, and personal growth.

The Record is not a medical or mental health service. It is not a substitute for professional psychological care, therapy, or clinical treatment. Nothing within The Record should be interpreted as medical advice or a clinical intervention.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or emergency, please contact a qualified mental health professional or your local emergency services immediately.

3. Subscription and Billing

• Access to The Record requires an active paid subscription.
• Subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual basis depending on the plan you choose.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at privacy@burningdownthehouse.co.uk.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain full access to the service until that date.
• No refunds are issued for partial billing periods.

4. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your login details with others. Each account is for individual use only.

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion is permanent and will remove your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use The Record solely for personal reflection and coaching purposes. You must not:

• Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, copy, or misuse the underlying AI system or coaching methodology.
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its infrastructure.

6. Intellectual Property

The Record platform, its design, branding, and the Burning Down the House methodology are proprietary. All rights are reserved by the respective rights holders.

Your personal data, journal entries, and coaching conversations remain yours. We do not claim ownership over any content you provide within the service.

7. Limitation of Liability

The Record is provided on an as-is basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the outcomes of using the service. We are not liable for any decisions made, actions taken, or outcomes resulting from your use of or reliance on coaching conversations within The Record.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of The Record shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the three months preceding the claim.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will notify you by email or through a notice within the service. Your continued use of The Record after notice of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
